Co-Founder & Executive Director
Mavreen Masere was born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC with a master’s degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management. Mavreen is on a mission to transform how the world sees and addresses the needs of proud people from resource-challenged countries. She is grateful for the opportunities she has been given and is keenly aware of those who have not been so fortunate. She has also seen that the old model of just giving doesn’t work. Short-term handouts do little to improve the long-term future of a family. She believes people do best when they can self-determine, share their value directly in the marketplace, and lift their families out of poverty.
“It is time to shift our approach to address inequality and to utilize technology to empower individuals with resources that can change their lives. I am proud to be an agent of this change, and I invite you to join me.” — Mavreen Masere
